What will happen at my consultation for neuropathy?
For your first consultation, our acupuncturist will do an extensive look at your medical history as well as examine you to determine your current state. Our acupuncturist may ask you about how, what, where, and when you feel pain, perspire, sleep, eat, drink, and exercise just to name a few. Additionally, our acupuncturist will also potentially feel your pulse, and observe your tongue as this gives clues as to your underlying condition causing your neuropathy pain.

Some other options for treatment can include herbal formulas, electroacupuncture, and moxibustion.

What are electroacupuncture & moxibustion, and how can they help with my neuropathy?
Electroacupuncture involves the use of a small electric current between two acupuncture needles. Moxibustion is somewhat of a combination of acupuncture and Chinese herbs consisting of burning mugwort leaf to stimulate acupuncture points. Both of these options are extremely proficient in treating neuropathy pain as well as reducing the feeling of “pins and needles” that sometimes comes with neuropathy.
